Odoo comes in two editions. Community is free and open source. Enterprise adds applications, features and services under a paid subscription. The right choice depends on which of those your business actually needs, and on how you plan to host and upgrade the system.
Enterprise is built on top of Community: the core applications are the same.

- Advanced accounting, such as bank synchronization and the full set of financial reports.
- Odoo Studio, to adapt screens and workflows without writing code.
- Applications only available in Enterprise, such as Helpdesk, Planning, Field Service, Documents and Sign.

Frequently asked questions
Can we move from Enterprise to Community?
Yes, but it is not a simple switch. Enterprise-only modules must be removed or replaced first, and their data exported or migrated beforehand. We analyze what you would lose before anything changes.
Can we start with Community and move to Enterprise later?
Yes. This direction is simpler, because Enterprise is built on top of Community.
Is Community enough for a growing business?
Often, yes, especially for operations-heavy companies. The usual deciding factors are accounting depth, Studio, and whether you want Odoo to host and upgrade the system.
