Upgrade Odoo without losing data integrity or breaking what makes your system yours.

Odoo releases a new major version every year and supports only the three most recent ones. Staying on an old version means no security fixes, no new features, and a harder jump later. We plan the migration path, test it on a copy of your data, and manage the cutover so your team keeps working.

When a migration project makes sense

  • You are on a version Odoo no longer supports.
  • Customizations or third-party modules are the reason you have not upgraded yet.
  • You need to jump several versions at once.
  • A previous upgrade left broken reports, missing data or manual workarounds.
  • You also want to move between Enterprise and Community.

How we run a migration

01InventoryKeep, replace, retire02MigrationpathTools and porting03Test runsWith your key users04CutoverFreeze, final runRepeated until the result is clean
  1. Inventory. We list every installed module, customization, report, automation and integration, and decide what to keep, what to replace with standard features, and what to retire.
  2. Migration path. Standard data is migrated with Odoo's upgrade service for Enterprise databases, or with OpenUpgrade, the community migration project, for Community databases. We port your custom modules to the target version.
  3. Test runs. We upgrade a copy of your production database, then check it with your key users against real scenarios: open orders, stock levels, invoices, taxes and reports. We repeat until the result is clean.
  4. Cutover. We agree on a freeze window, run the final migration, check the key figures against the old system, and stay available during the first days after the switch.

The path depends on the edition: each database goes through the tool designed for it, and your custom modules are ported alongside.

What we verify before go-live

  • Accounting balances, open invoices and payments match before and after.
  • Stock quantities and valuation are unchanged.
  • Custom fields, reports and document templates still render correctly.
  • Automated actions, scheduled jobs and email templates still run.
  • Integrations (e-commerce, payments, APIs) are reconnected and tested.

Frequently asked questions

Can we skip several versions?

Yes. Your data still goes through the changes of each intermediate version, but this happens within a single project. Custom modules are ported straight to the target version.

How long does a migration take?

It depends mostly on the number of custom modules and integrations. We give you an estimate after the inventory step, not before.

Will our team have to stop working?

Only during the final cutover window, which we schedule with you, for example over a weekend.
